Fort
Dale Academy
A
Commitment To Our Community
All Fort Dale Academy students will be required to complete 12 hours of community service per academic year beginning with their 10th grade year. An academic year will be considered as the following dates: June 1st to May 31st. However, graduating Seniors must have their community service hours completed and turned in by May 1st to ensure proper credit has been given toward their graduation requirements.
Below you will find examples of acceptable community service activities. Students should be mindful that they are not limited to these activities; there are many opportunities for serving our community that are not listed.
Examples
Camellia Girl/Chamber Page
Blood Drive
Tutoring
Church work
City
reading programs
Relay for Life
American Heart Walk
Walk for Diabetes
Boy Scouts/Girl Scout Activities
Canned Food Drive
Christmas Angels
Any other activity approved by the headmaster
Excluded community service will be that which has been ordered as a form of punishment or any activity where payment has been received (i.e. tutoring for pay).
Proper forms must be completed, signed and returned to the guidance office or registrar's office by May 1st of each year to receive credit toward graduation. The Authorized Signature must be that of an adult leading the event or activity.
If a student has any questions about any activity that might or might not be accepted by Fort Dale Academy, they are responsible for asking the headmaster in advance.
