Each students must have paid the full year's tuition before graduation ceremonies, and dues and financial obligations on other members of the graduate's family must be current.

The status of honor graduate is based on a student's last four years of school, and this distinction is noted on the student's permanent record card. Honor graduates, including valedictorian and salutatorian, are subject to the following minimum requirements:

  1. The student must have earned the required credits for normal graduation.
  2. To qualify for valedictorian, the student must have attended Fort Dale for two years preceding graduation.
  3. The student must have an exact 90 or above average without weighting. NO fraction is rounded up.
  4. The student's course of study must be for an advanced diploma.

Final rank in class, as well as honor student status, will be determined at the end of the third nine week period of the senior year. Final rank in class, including valedictorian and salutatorian, will be determined by excluding P.E. grades and by adjusting for honors courses by adding ten points to each of those courses' semester grades. (This adjustment is not reflected on the student's permanent record card and will not be considered when the student's final GPA is determined.)

Adjustments will be made using the following honors courses. Honors classes are as follows:

  • Botany/Zoology
  • Anatomy/Physiology
  • Physics
  • Calculus
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Chemistry II
  • BioChemistry
  • Honors English (available in the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades)
