Dear Parents:

Summer reading is important for a student to develop and maintain skills. With this in mind, upcoming 6th grade students are required to read the following book this summer.

The Pinballs (Betsy Byars)

The attached book report format is only required for the above-mentioned book.

The book report should be handwritten (manuscript or cursive) in a small, spiral composition book and will be due the first day of school.

Our required reading list for the school year (2009-2010) is as follows:

Skinnybones (Barbra Park)
Tuckeverlasting (Natalie Babbit)
Where the Red Fern Grows (Wilson Rawls)
Hatchet (Gary Paulsen)
