Fort Dale Academy recognizes that children come to school with individual interests, abilities, and patterns of growth and development. Understanding these differences, the mission of Fort Dale Academy is to prepare our students for college and careers in an environment that is academically vigorous, nurturing, safe and is morally, socially, and emotionally supportive.
Fort Dale Academy was founded in the fall of 1969, and the Chairman of the Board was Elisha Poole stating the theme of the school to be "To Strive for Excellence." Fort Dale began with one building which included only grades 1-9 for the first year. High school was added the second year. Football games were held on Mr. and Mrs. Ryan's property, due to FDA not having a playing field. FDA established their academic reputation in the 1970's. In 1983, South Butler Academy merged with FDA. Fort Dale's campus was completed when the Kindergarten and Computer building were opened in the Fall of 1996, and the Math building/Field house opened in the Fall of 2000.
